“Take chocolate so that the meanest companies seem good to you.”

This wise advice comes from a letter from Madame de Sévigné to her daughter, Madame de Grignan. A brilliant writer and great lover of cocoa, it was her who gave her name to the famous chocolate brand, Marquise de Sévigné. Created in 1898 by a couple of entrepreneurs, Auguste and Clémentine Rouzaud, this house which conveys good French taste was bought by the Burrus family in 1973.
The brand’s reputation was built on the luxurious confection of chocolate boxes and the impeccable quality of the gourmet treasures they contain. Throughout the world, the history of French chocolate is written in refined letters by Marquise de Sévigné.
Today more than ever, the search for the noblest raw materials (cocoa, almonds, hazelnuts…) allows us to elaborate original recipes from a chocolate of excellence that perpetuates the reputation of Marquise de Sévigné.
Faithful to the passionate ideal of the pioneers of the house, we transmit the letters of nobility of chocolate in our shops.
